safety & health

The health and safety of our children is the top priority for all parents.

Isn't it ironic then, that driving one’s child to school can pose a threat to the safety of other children?

Because of the school’s importance in our children’s daily schedule, the safety and comfort of the streets and sidwalks around our schools has a major impact on families' travel choices. In many communities, the physical environment surrounding the school does more to discourage physical activity than to promote it.

Our communities' immediate and future health will improve with an increasing number of students walking and cycling to school. Urbanthinkers has extensive experience collaborating with school communities to ensure that parents and students recognize how much control they have over nearby traffic patterns.

Parents and students also learn how to coordinate a few basic steps which lead to an improvement in the health and academic achievement of their students.
