Testimonials

JC, age 16

Off Ramp would never be successful if it hadn’t been for Arthur Orsini. Arthur was able to guide us throughout the year, and to provide us with a different view about the world ...and that saving the environment is a social responsibility (making it) fun and interesting. Since Off Ramp became active, our number of people driving to school decreased by almost 70%, and staff and students work hard together to maintain (this). Arthur Orsini was an outstanding mentor for our group.

In high school, WALKING & CYCLING ARE SOCIAL ISSUES.

Urbanthinkers has been collaborating with teens for over a decade developing resources and activities with social networking strategies for secondary students. We can help you work with teens in your community.

Our work begins by helping to change attitudes and circumstances so that teenagers enjoy taking part in physical activities such as walking and cycling. From there, we work with student leaders to raise the challenge for teens to increase both the frequency and tempo, while seeking out new opportunities to incorporate physical activity into their weekly routines.

Urbanthinkers has dozens of resources – adaptable to suit the character of your secondary school community and its student leaders.

We offer support & resources for high school projects across Canada, including;

Vélo Québec - On the Move to School secondary pilot project

DASH-BC - Secondary School iWalk Week Challenge

SHAPE - Alberta's new Active Transportation Youth Engagement program (beginning April 2010)

Centre for Sustainable Transportation - Youth & Transport resource
